It Was An Accident! I Swear!

I killed my fish.

I know, so dramatic, right?

But this happened in the most unusual way, the kind of way you might find in "Weird News" or  "Unbelievable Stories" sort of thing.

I am still unpacking, slowly but surely, the last box is near.  I have finally reached the pictures.  I decide I want to hang my Fun Size Schnauzer picture on the wall where I had previously hung a clock.

I reach up and lift the clock off the wall not noticing the nail it was hanging on came off the wall until I heard a tiny little splash.

"No biggie" I thought.  I've been bitten by this particular fish before and its more of a "nip" than an actual "bite."

It was at that point that I realized there would be no "bite" or "nip" for the nail had stabbed him in his gut section.  He floated, stunned, in his tiny beta tank.  "Oh dear Gawd" I thought, "I can't believe I've killed a fish like this."  I've killed them by not having the water the proper temperature or mix of conditioner but never by stabbing a fish to death.

For a split second I felt like one of the fisher(wo)man on Swords, seemed like such a violent show until this happened.

I guess I have a new attribute to add to the list.  Fish Stabber.

Hummingbirds

Legends say that hummingbirds float free of time, carrying our hopes for love, joy and celebration.  The hummingbird's delicate grace reminds us that life is rich beyond belief, beauty is everywhere, every personal connection has meaning no matter how small and that laughter is life's sweetest creation.

So hope, love, dream and laugh, really really laugh.
